The company
WORK-SELF builds Maya Enterprise, the Human Context infrastructure for enterprise AI. AI agents increasingly perform work inside large organisations, but they need context about the people and decisions around that work: who owns it, which decisions an agent can make, when a person reviews the result and how exceptions are escalated. Maya provides this governed context through an MCP-native server so employees and agents can complete work through accountable workflows.
We are a London-based enterprise AI company. In our first year we won enterprise contracts across banking, utilities, property services and European public finance, reached EBITDA-positive operations with a small team, and deployed Maya with enterprise customers. We work with technology and delivery partners and hold a granted US AI patent assigned to the company. Our next stage is scaling product delivery, enterprise adoption and partner-led growth. The people joining now will help build that next stage.
The role
You will own the technical product roadmap and development execution for Maya Enterprise: which capabilities ship, in what order, against which specifications and acceptance criteria. Working closely with founding engineers and customer-facing teams, you will translate business and workflow requirements into deliverables, manage priorities, dependencies, budgets and timelines, and ensure releases are tested and reliable. Your primary responsibility is building the product correctly, not external positioning or demand generation.
Expected compensation ranges: £60k – £80k per year (Base) + £100k – £150k (Equity) + Bonus on performance and standard benefits
What you will own
Roadmap, capabilities and integration scope. Own the roadmap across Human Context delivery, permissions, decision rights, review and escalation, MCP interfaces, integrations, reliability and product governance. Prioritise against customer needs, technical capacity and explicit trade-offs.
Specifications and delivery contracts. Turn customer workflows into clear functional and technical requirements, testable acceptance criteria, documented decision paths and release plans. Specify how the product behaves when context is insufficient, a tool fails or human approval is required.
Product quality and reliability. Own product-level validation of context accuracy, permissions, versioned changes, auditability, pilot feedback and failure handling, partnering with engineering on evaluations and release readiness.
Development planning and execution. Work with the lead engineer to prioritise work, maintain delivery milestones, manage budget and capacity within agreed authority, track implementation dependencies and resolve cross-team decisions.
Product evidence and learning. Maintain a single view of product usage, reliability, customer needs and feature adoption. Use real implementation evidence to change the roadmap rather than defending sunk work.
You will know you are succeeding when
First 30 days. You have assessed Maya’s current capabilities, customer commitments and technical constraints, and translated them into a prioritised roadmap with explicit decisions and owners.
By 90 days. Engineering delivery is guided by clear specifications, testable acceptance criteria and visible milestones. Product risks, dependencies and release decisions are recorded and acted on.
By 180 days. New releases and integrations follow a consistent specification, testing and acceptance process. Product reliability and roadmap decisions are supported by implementation evidence, customer feedback and measurable usage.
Who does well here
• Strong technical product-management experience building enterprise SaaS, infrastructure, workflow or AI products.
• Ability to discuss APIs, data flows, permissions, integration design and reliability with engineers without replacing their engineering judgement.
• Evidence of translating ambiguous requirements into usable specs and shipping complex work.
• Comfort prioritising across product quality, customer commitments, technical debt, budget and timelines.
• Excellent written decision records, cross-functional communication and ownership of release quality.
This is a product shipping and quality role. Strategy material cannot replace specifications, tests and dependable releases.
What you get
• Substantive ownership of Maya Enterprise’s technical product direction.
• Daily collaboration with founding engineering, enterprise clients and the founder.
• The opportunity to help build and scale an early-stage enterprise AI company.
