My name is Daniel Oluwaseyi Oyinloye and I am a storyteller for a living. I am engaged more in uncovering the stories of the community around me and the people around me. So I do a lot of community storytelling through visual art and through music, and a lot of using artists with different forms of art and engaging them in their narratives and their stories. So I go in, I record a documentary, get to meet, get to know the artist, and use that as a way of engaging the community and connecting. So when I set out to do a project, depending on the magnitude of the project, I engage a team or not. So when I do video interviews for the Goody Night experience that I host at the community that gave me an event, I set out with one of the show hosts. So I go in with a host. I am the cinematographer and the director and producer of the shot. And you have my host do more of the written piece in terms of engaging the client or the person we're getting to know. And then, all of that footage, sound, everything is recorded, and then I do post production as well, as the editor. So yes, mostly a one-man band. I'm working on a video right now for a choir in town. And they wanted to capture the experience of some of the events they do and the meaning behind it. So that took us through going to putting a choir practice, and then going to some other events that they've hosted, then doing some head shot interviews to piece together a narrative of what they're trying to do and what they do. So with that being said, the client calls with just literally saying, we wanna do a video, and we want it to incorporate our theme and our mission, and we don't know what to do. So I give 'em an outline of, we could set up interviews first, and then when we do the interviews, the head shot interviews, we could line our narrative structure of, okay, this is what the mission states and this is how people who have engaged with the organization have engaged with the organization, and based on what they've said in those interviews, we take the sound bites and create a narrative. It's like writing an essay. And then you work with that essay to create visual narratives to match it. Some people call it B-roll, or you could call it narrative role, depends on whatever you wanna, I'm not too picky. And then we go shooting events and specifics to match that up.
