Nevakar Injectables Inc. is a privately-held, specialty pharmaceutical company committed to developing innovative products in the injectable and ophthalmic space. The company is dedicated to the development of enhanced products that address unmet clinical and/or commercial needs of current FDA approved molecules, through intensive R&D and clinical efforts. Nevakar’s drug repositioning efforts are focused on the design and development of 1) improved formulation, 2) functional packaging, 3) novel drug delivery approaches, and 4) regulatory and clinical strategies. Resulting new and repositioned products are expected to provide patient-centric benefits while ensuring incremental value proposition for the healthcare system. These new products with proprietary enhancements are filed with the FDA, primarily under the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway.
Education
Currently enrolled in Masters/Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Material Science, Biochemistry or related field.

Learning Objectives:
- Understand the small molecule chemistry, degradation pathways, characterization and stabilization techniques.
- Learn to apply the principles of physical/organic chemistry, physical pharmacy & materials science to solving practical pharmaceutical development problems.
- Experience in developing novel injectable/ophthalmic drug delivery systems
- Gain hands-on experience in solubilization and stabilization of small molecules
- Experience in performing formulation/process development of a sterile dosage forms for small molecules.
Position Details
- The position will be in the Formulation Development Group.
- Conduct literature search for the assigned projects.
- The individual will also be responsible for designing and executing different laboratory experiments, making observations, performing data analysis and reporting results.
- Design and conduct pre-formulation, formulation development, process development and process optimization studies for parenteral and ophthalmic formulations and related alternate drug delivery systems such as solutions, lyophilized products, sterile injectable suspensions etc.
