Don’t want to work for a company that just makes rich people richer? Care about mental health? You’re not alone. We’re mission driven because we don’t really see how you couldn’t be by this point.
You
For the first time since our founding we’re expanding Coursicle beyond course registration. With the addition of tasks, calendar, and the features you’ll help us design, we’re hoping students will begin to rely on Coursicle every day of the semester.
Your primary role as a designer will be ideating designs for new features and creating mockups in Figma. We’re looking for someone to start immediately (early December 2024). This is a part-time role, paid hourly. We have a preference for those based in New York City, but are open to remote work.
Our roadmap is constantly shifting in response to user feedback so it’s hard to anticipate what’s next, but right now we’re working on a Live Activity, Widget, and a homework import screen from Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard, etc. If you’ve used Coursicle before and have ideas for what one of these might look like, please let us know in your application.
Us
Company:
- 700,000 users
- Running entirely on revenue
- Small team (4 full-time, 3 part-time)
Missions:
- Mental health: we’ve seen first-hand the stigma that’s held toward mental illness (read our CEO’s essay about his struggle with anxiety and depression). It’s all too common to feel isolated and overwhelmed in college. Coursicle began as a way to reduce the anxiety of course registration and we’re continuing that effort by helping students feel more in control of their academic lives.
- Wealth disparity: we don’t want to make the rich richer, so we don’t take investment and we don’t optimize for profit. We want to show the world that money can’t continue to be the end goal anymore and you can be successful without trying to squeeze every cent out of people.
